The trip of a lifetime awaits in The Bahamas. From pirate adventures in Nassau and swimming with the famous pigs of Exuma, to indulging in local rum flavors with a guided tour. Island hopping is a must, but not before touching base at your all-inclusive resort. With activities for just about everyone, give in to the allure of an all-inclusive vacation in The Bahamas!
Peak season
Clear skies and great weather are markers for the peak season months from December to April. This is the most popular time to head to the islands, and sometimes flights can be costly. If you plan to travel during this time, book flights, accommodation and excursions early.
Shoulder season
Shoulder season is between peak and low season. Some like to describe traveling during this time, between May and June, as ‘the best of both worlds’. The water temperature is perfect and it’s the ideal time to go out on a boat trip. Lower rates of flights and accommodation are often available, and the weather’s inviting too.
Low season
Low season, between July to November, can be a good time to travel for the best rates. The islands of The Bahamas are often less crowded during this time which means more room to roam on the island’s best beaches! This is a great time to travel to cut costs.

English is the official language of The Bahamas, which means you’re unlikely to have any issues communicating with the locals. Bahamians also speak with a local dialect known as Bahamian Creole.
The Bahamian Dollar (BSD) is the official currency of The Bahamas. BSD is pegged to the US Dollar (USD), which makes currency exchanges a whole lot easier. If you don’t have time to change your currency, that’s fine too. USD is accepted everywhere in The Bahamas.
You won’t need to bring any travel adapters with you when traveling to The Bahamas. The electricity plugs in this territory are Type A and Type B, and the voltage is 120V. This is the same as in the U.S., so no worries there.
Travel by bus, car, or taxi — it’s entirely up to you in The Bahamas. You can also rent a car to get around for convenience. Hiring a taxi is the most popular option, and you can make arrangements through your resort. Note: at Sandals Resorts, your transfer from and to the airport is included in the booking price!
Tips are often included at restaurants and bars outside of your resort in The Bahamas. It can be a good idea to leave tips with tour guides and at the spa. This can be in the range of 10-20%, but it all depends on how much you enjoyed the service. For guests of Sandals Resorts, tipping isn’t allowed, as its already in your booking price.
